VTDemo is an interactive educational application for demonstrating vocal tract acoustics, developed by Mark Huckvale at University College London. It allows students, instructors, and researchers to manipulate simplified models of the human vocal tract and immediately see how articulatory changes shape the acoustic output of speech. Users can explore tract shapes and constrictions, visualize area and transfer functions, and track resonance patterns (formants such as F1–F3) across the vowel space. Designed for teaching and self-guided learning in phonetics, linguistics, and speech technology, VTDemo helps bridge the gap between articulation and acoustics with clear visuals and intuitive controls.

VTDemo is developed by Mark Huckvale University College London. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.4, 3.5 and 3.6. The name of the program executable file is vtdemo.exe.
